Saturday, February 25, 2012“How Craft Became Art” a presentation by Lloyd Herman, Director Emeritus of the Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian Art Museum, will take us on a whirlwind visual tour of “craft” as it became recognized as “art” in the past 100 years. The presentation is jointly hosted by the La Conner Quilt and Textile Museum and the Museum of Northwest Art on Saturday, February 25 at 6pm, at MoNA, 121 First Street, La Conner WA. The Museum of Northwest Art presents its annual wearable art show, a one-day sale featuring works by thirty-five Northwest artists. Meet the artists and shop for clothing, jewelry, accessories, and items for the home. Proceeds support participating artists and the Museum of Northwest Art.
